Ronit is a pelvic floor specialist and treats both men and women with a wide variety of pelvic floor dysfunction. Over the past 13 years she has become an expert in this field, establishing the pelvic floor rehabilitation program at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia and starting her own private practice. Too many of her patients report being met with a shrug when they talk to their healthcare providers about their symptoms – or worse are told what they are experiencing is “normal” and/or can’t be fixed. I was nervous about the whole thing, but Ronit put me at ease. Our physical therapy sessions with Ronit have helped me cope better. I hadn’t realized how great a role stress was playing in contributing to my physical problems. Ronit raised my awareness and gave me strategies to reduce my stress level.
Pelvic pain can manifest in different ways, but whatever your personal issue, if you follow Ronit’s recommendations, I’m sure she can help you as she helped me. After a couple of months my symptoms had eased up enough that we agreed I no longer needed weekly sessions. But it is reassuring to know that if my symptoms return I can go back for a refresher session or two.
